37 weeks and 3 days .

So yesterday I lost my mucus plug , I totally freaked out when it happened , I've never seen blood during my pregnancy so I thought something had gone terribly wrong . I started getting contractions so I called the doctor , she said that I was probably just fine but if I didn't feel comfortable that I should go to the hospital to see if I was dilated . So a couple hours went by and my contractions got worse , while they were still irregular we went to the hospital to check it out . After a couple hours they checked twice to see if I was dilated and I was only at 1 cm so we went home . KEEP YOU POSTED !

Belly Growth .

36 weeks and 5 days .

So last night I pretty much thought I was going into labor.. we were on our way home from a weekend with the family . I ate a bunch of junk food , drank soda.. you name it , I ate it ! Which actually is way different from what happens at home , I hardly eat crap . SHOCKING , I KNOW ! So anyways , I had the worst gas pain I've ever felt in my life . It was just unbearable , finally after we made it home I went straight to bed ! Today I went to the doctor and she checked my cervix after I told her I have been getting tons of Braxton hicks , but he's still pretty high . She said if I get too uncomfortable she'll induce labor . Everything else looked good , so that's all for now ! 2 more days til I'm full term , can't believe it's here already !

35 weeks and 5 days .

Today we went to the doctor and met one of the other doctors since my doctor might possibly be out of town when I have the baby . It's a bummer but I hear that it's all about the nurse anyways.. So we got an ultrasound done , and that streptococcus thing.. of course the ONE time I bring a friend with us I have to take my pants off ! Go figure.. We didn't get any images from the ultrasound but we did get a littleinfo.. his head measured at 35 weeks and 6 days , so that's perfect , but he's about 6.5 lbs which if I go til my due date in exactly a month he'll be around 8lbs . I'm not too worried , I thought he would be way bigger.. my belly is starting to drop finally , but I'm having a really hard time sleeping thru the night . I just keep telling myself.. just a little bit longer ! That is all for now . Here's a pic :

33 weeks and 5 days .

Went to the doctor today , I'm really surprised I only gained 2 lbs since last time I was there , I was measured at 35 cm . I definitely thought I was gonna get in trouble for gaining more.. for some reason I've been going thru weird phases where I have to have sweets constantly , and other times I'm totally into just drinking water and eating salad . I had my shower in Palm Springs , which was a blast ! We got some of the cutest clothes for Holden I can't even stand it ! Can't wait for my shower this saturday , it's gonna be insane . It's crazy that I only have 5 more doc visits til my due date.. I'm going to meet with the other two doctors in my office because my regular doctor is going on vacay the last two weeks of Dec . :( !! Hopefully I give birth before she leaves !

31 weeks and 5 days .

It's so weird to think I only have about 8 weeks left til I have my little Holden with me . It honestly hasn't really hit me yet , but I know that probably once I stop working and all that I'll be more in tune with what's actually happening to me right now . I got my disability papers from the doctor today , I am gonna be going on maternity leave in about 2 weeks . Oh happy days ! I feel like I haven't seen any of my friends throughout my whole pregnancy , so hopefully this will give me a chance to catch up with everyone . I gained 3 lbs since my last visit 2 weeks ago , and my doctor was happy about that . I have actually cut out drinking sugary drinks and only have been indulging in some good ol' H20 , and tea in the morning . I measured 34 cm last time and I measured the same this time . It's funny how just cutting out a little bit of sugar can make a big difference . I go back in 2 weeks , and I'll have some ultrasound pics to share .

The Life of a Cocktail Waitress..

You all probably know , I am a cocktail waitress . It's definitely getting to the point where I am starting to get really tired and over all my "wonderful well-tipping" customers ...besides that I'm getting to the point where I just can't really do anything there besides ringing in their order . I've noticed that even carrying a tray of drinks is hard , I get really exhausted easily . So I talked to my doctor (sidenote: I'm still so clueless about this whole maternity leave thing) and she said that she wants me to stop working as soon as possible . She said 32 weeks is ideal in her opinion , but for me not so much (when $$$ turns into $ things can get stressful , if you know what I mean). So , we talked it over and came to the conclusion that I'll be stopping work at 34 weeks . Maternity leave HERE I COME ! I can't wait.. then it's only a matter of time until Holden is here to grace us with his presence .

30 Week Ultrasound .

Today I went for my monthly checkup to the doctor . I measured 34 cm , which as you know you're supposedly supposed to be a cm per week , so the baby is measuring a little bigger than normal . Nothing to fret about tho , he's a very healthy boy . He's weighing in at 4.2 lbs , on average 30 weekers are supposed to be around 3.1 lbs so I'm thinkin' he's gonna be a big boy . If you've met my husband you know there's nothing small about him , nor my dad , nor his dad , soooooo I kind of expected this . I unfortunately don't have any pictures to post from the ultrasound , my doctor didn't really take any , she was just more concerned about him being healthy than getting us shots of him , and he is so that's all that matters to me ! That's all for now..

29 Weeks .

I figured that I should just post a belly picture since I've never done that on here before . This is my belly at 29 weeks . Yay !

26 Week Ultrasound .

So today I'm 26 weeks , four weeks since I got my last ultrasound when they told us about the umbilical cord mishap . But great news , the doctor told us after looking at the ultrasound he's growing very healthily . He's measuring at 27 weeks , and 5 days , so he might be a big boy ! He's about 2.5 lbs so he's a little bigger than he should be , but I'm fine with that , as long as he's healthy ! We only got like 3 pictures of him this time , he was shy , hiding his face from us . Here's just one picture for you guys.. of his foot , it looks big !

25 weeks and 5 days .

We had a little bit of a scare with our last ultrasound , the tech told us that the baby's umbilical cord was not attached to the placenta but to the uterine wall so some of the nutrients that he should be getting were being blocked . But today , we went to the doctor and talked to her about it and I'm measuring 28 cm so he's obviously grown . She said that it's impossible for the umbilical cord to not be attached to the placenta , otherwise there would be no oxygen or blood flow . Meaning that , the umbilical cord is attached just on the side instead of on top (is how she described it). So , everything seems to be going great . I'm getting bigger by the minute , I can hardly believe how big I've gotten . I've done sort of a collage of belly pictures , starting from week 15 , such a difference ! I'll post it on wednesday when I'm exactly 26 weeks , as well as new ultrasound images !

22 week ultrasound !

So we had to go one more time to get an ultrasound because they didn't see one part of his heart . He wouldn't turn around so it was being blocked somehow , but they saw everything this time . It was so nice to see Holden again , he's definitely a little "wiggle worm" , as the ultrasound tech would say . He was holding his hands up over his face the whole time , she tried the 4D but it didn't really work too well . It's so crazy to think that I could see his face right now.. We did get a snapshot of his little nose and lips tho , and I have to tell you it looks so much like his daddy already . He's got a little button nose . Also , I was told that (I'm not supposed to stress over it but...) my umbilical cord is supposed to be attached to my placenta , but it's actually connected at my uterine wall so some of his nutrients may be blocked . So now I have to get measurements of his growth monthly just to make sure he's growing properly . But I'm sure he'll be ok , he's already ahead of what he should be and by the looks of my husband I think he's gonna be a little bigger than normal anyways .

So it's hard to see but if you kind of tilt your head to the left you'll see his hand covering his face and then his lips and nose below in the middle . And his nose is pointed upward , his lips are also blowing kisses at you .

20 weeks and 5 days .

So today I went to the doctor for my every 4 week check-up . It was good , I have gained 10lbs since the beginning . Apparently tho , baby boy is getting a little too hefty , measured at 24cm . She said I need to cool it on starch , basically I need to concentrate on more protein and vegetables . No more large quantities of fruits , pasta , dessert [BIG SAD FACE!!] and carbs . She said that it's gonna be hard to deliver him if I keep helping him gain weight.. very logical . So now I'm determined to eat the right way.. I have another ultra sound on monday because they couldn't get a clear picture of his heart . So that's all for now !

18 weeks and 4 days .

As of July 21st , 2010 we found out we're having a BOY ! that little boy that we wished and hoped for.. Scott is so unbelievably excited to be getting a son , as are my parents for getting their first grandson ! I did always wish for a boy but didn't express it much , now I can shout aloud !! I've gotten the question from many many people what his name will be . We are not extremely sure on the middle name yet but we know it's going to be : Holden Ezekiel Strong . Anyhow , just wanted to share that with everyone .

16 weeks and 5 days .

Had another doctors appointment today , the heartbeat was a lot louder this time . It was at 158 beats , so very normal . Which of course , I'm happy to hear . They keep trying to push the blood tests on me to find out if the baby has any birth defects but I just don't want to do it . I got all my standard blood tests done on Tuesday and everything came out fine , except for my urine sample . I told them from the very beginning at around 10 weeks I had a UTI and they checked and said everything was fine , but I told them I had all the symptoms and they still just told me I was fine . But , this time they got the result and it said I did have the UTI so I've been put on a 7 day antibiotic that will get rid of it . FINALLY someone listens ! Anyways , that'll be nice to finally get that out of my system , it's been pretty painful . On a brighter note , I have a sonogram scheduled for July 21st , and let's all pray that I find out what the sex of the baby is . I've been asked about 87459738423 times what it is , and I'd really like to relieve everyone's minds ! ESP my husband.. he's so eager to find out if he's gonna get his little man , he's wishing for ! :)

12 weeks and 5 days !

So monday I went to the doctor , I was 12 weeks and 5 days . The doctor let us hear the heartbeat thru the doppler , they said it was a little quieter than normal , but nothing to be alarmed about . Probably just the position the baby is in . They said it's 158 beats/minute , which an old wives tale will tell you a heartbeat around 160 means it's a girl . But who believes those old wives tales , maybe some people ! I was ordered to go and take a couple blood tests and do a sonogram at the prenatal center . So I'll be posting some info on that soon . It was a rather short visit.. but informative nonetheless !

10 weeks today !

It's so crazy how fast it goes by.. I remember like it was yesterday peeing on those sticks telling me I was pregnant for the first time ! And now , my babies vitals organs are fully formed , it's fingers and toes are formed , it has elbows and it's brain growth is really taking off . I've been getting really used to the morning sickness . I wake up every morning , I stay in bed for a little while just to rest , once I feel the sickness I get right up and eat some fruit and then breakfast . It's become such a routine for me I don't even really notice . I found this really cool site that shows me what my baby looks like inside me , and all these facts each week of my pregnancy . I just really hope I look like this when I'm big pregnant.. I seriously doubt it , but a girl can hope can't she ?!

IT'S OFFICIAL !!

time to announce it !

I guess this could be the "grand opening" to my blog . So , anyways , the baby is in there ! Went to the doctor yesterday and it just blew our minds . We heard the heartbeat , we saw it's hands move , and we're both just really really excited about the whole thing ! I'm 8 weeks and 6 days today . I'm feeling good today , can't say the same about yesterday , I was pretty sick but that was the worst I'd ever been . Perhaps I'll be able to pass by the morning sickness without actually having to have it . Let's just pray ! I'll keep everyone posted.. I WOULD take a picture of my belly buuuuut I'd rather do that when I get to the "cute" pregnant stage .

Nutrition !!

DAILY it gets worse and worse , I just wanna eat all this junk food ! but I have to fight it.. I just have to . Otherwise , I'm not just gonna get a fat belly , I'm gonna get a fat everything !! and I definitely don't want that . My diet usually consists of breakfast : yogurt , fruit , toast , scrambled eggs , and either potatoes or hash browns . Which seems to be my healthiest meal of the day . Then lunch usually isn't until 2 or 3 when I get off work and I'll either have a sandwich or soup . but then until dinner there's that constant urge to just eat more and more , but something small which always turns into JUNK ! So , today I had my husband go buy some "snack-on" veggies and I have my fruits , I am determined to be a healthy eater thru out my pregnancy !

"Morning Sickness"

unfortunately , we haven't been able to make a doctors appointment yet but pretty soon I think I'll be able to . I can't wait to hear what the actual doctor says about it . I mean , obviously four tests and the symptoms won't really steer you wrong buuuut you never know . I'm already really nauseated every single morning , I know now why they call it "morning sickness" , I'm pretty much ok any other time of day . work is getting hard now that I'm aware of having something so precious inside my belly . once we get a doc appt all set up I will keep everyone posted .

As of : April 26th 2010 .

My husband Scott and I just found out we're gonna have a baby . We've only been married for about a month so this came as a shock to us but we're both extremely excited ! I have to set up an appointment with the doctor just to see how far along I am . I think I'm at about 5 weeks (my sister-in-law who just had a beautiful little girl did the math for me) . So I'm starting this today , we'll see how far I can go . Just thought it'd be a great way to keep all my friends updated !
