The Life of a Cocktail Waitress..

You all probably know , I am a cocktail waitress . It's definitely getting to the point where I am starting to get really tired and over all my "wonderful well-tipping" customers ...besides that I'm getting to the point where I just can't really do anything there besides ringing in their order . I've noticed that even carrying a tray of drinks is hard , I get really exhausted easily . So I talked to my doctor (sidenote: I'm still so clueless about this whole maternity leave thing) and she said that she wants me to stop working as soon as possible . She said 32 weeks is ideal in her opinion , but for me not so much (when $$$ turns into $ things can get stressful , if you know what I mean). So , we talked it over and came to the conclusion that I'll be stopping work at 34 weeks . Maternity leave HERE I COME ! I can't wait.. then it's only a matter of time until Holden is here to grace us with his presence .

30 Week Ultrasound .

Today I went for my monthly checkup to the doctor . I measured 34 cm , which as you know you're supposedly supposed to be a cm per week , so the baby is measuring a little bigger than normal . Nothing to fret about tho , he's a very healthy boy . He's weighing in at 4.2 lbs , on average 30 weekers are supposed to be around 3.1 lbs so I'm thinkin' he's gonna be a big boy . If you've met my husband you know there's nothing small about him , nor my dad , nor his dad , soooooo I kind of expected this . I unfortunately don't have any pictures to post from the ultrasound , my doctor didn't really take any , she was just more concerned about him being healthy than getting us shots of him , and he is so that's all that matters to me ! That's all for now..

29 Weeks .

I figured that I should just post a belly picture since I've never done that on here before . This is my belly at 29 weeks . Yay !

26 Week Ultrasound .

So today I'm 26 weeks , four weeks since I got my last ultrasound when they told us about the umbilical cord mishap . But great news , the doctor told us after looking at the ultrasound he's growing very healthily . He's measuring at 27 weeks , and 5 days , so he might be a big boy ! He's about 2.5 lbs so he's a little bigger than he should be , but I'm fine with that , as long as he's healthy ! We only got like 3 pictures of him this time , he was shy , hiding his face from us . Here's just one picture for you guys.. of his foot , it looks big !

25 weeks and 5 days .

We had a little bit of a scare with our last ultrasound , the tech told us that the baby's umbilical cord was not attached to the placenta but to the uterine wall so some of the nutrients that he should be getting were being blocked . But today , we went to the doctor and talked to her about it and I'm measuring 28 cm so he's obviously grown . She said that it's impossible for the umbilical cord to not be attached to the placenta , otherwise there would be no oxygen or blood flow . Meaning that , the umbilical cord is attached just on the side instead of on top (is how she described it). So , everything seems to be going great . I'm getting bigger by the minute , I can hardly believe how big I've gotten . I've done sort of a collage of belly pictures , starting from week 15 , such a difference ! I'll post it on wednesday when I'm exactly 26 weeks , as well as new ultrasound images !

22 week ultrasound !

So we had to go one more time to get an ultrasound because they didn't see one part of his heart . He wouldn't turn around so it was being blocked somehow , but they saw everything this time . It was so nice to see Holden again , he's definitely a little "wiggle worm" , as the ultrasound tech would say . He was holding his hands up over his face the whole time , she tried the 4D but it didn't really work too well . It's so crazy to think that I could see his face right now.. We did get a snapshot of his little nose and lips tho , and I have to tell you it looks so much like his daddy already . He's got a little button nose . Also , I was told that (I'm not supposed to stress over it but...) my umbilical cord is supposed to be attached to my placenta , but it's actually connected at my uterine wall so some of his nutrients may be blocked . So now I have to get measurements of his growth monthly just to make sure he's growing properly . But I'm sure he'll be ok , he's already ahead of what he should be and by the looks of my husband I think he's gonna be a little bigger than normal anyways .

So it's hard to see but if you kind of tilt your head to the left you'll see his hand covering his face and then his lips and nose below in the middle . And his nose is pointed upward , his lips are also blowing kisses at you .

20 weeks and 5 days .

So today I went to the doctor for my every 4 week check-up . It was good , I have gained 10lbs since the beginning . Apparently tho , baby boy is getting a little too hefty , measured at 24cm . She said I need to cool it on starch , basically I need to concentrate on more protein and vegetables . No more large quantities of fruits , pasta , dessert [BIG SAD FACE!!] and carbs . She said that it's gonna be hard to deliver him if I keep helping him gain weight.. very logical . So now I'm determined to eat the right way.. I have another ultra sound on monday because they couldn't get a clear picture of his heart . So that's all for now !
